pCloud Review (2026): The Price, the Encryption Model and How Far Back You Can Recover

Product and Plan Guidance

Swiss cloud-storage provider selling annual and lifetime plans with an optional client-side encryption layer.

Choosing the Right Plan

pCloud's captured paid lineup includes Premium 500 GB, Premium Plus 2 TB and Ultra 10 TB. Storage capacity and download traffic are separate limits: the Ultra entry did not imply a matching 10 TB traffic allowance. Choose for the way files will be shared as well as the space they occupy.

The annual prices recorded were USD 49.99, USD 99.99 and USD 299.99 respectively. They are annual payments, not monthly charges, and the higher struck-through amounts are not treated as renewal prices. A lifetime option was advertised, but its actual price was not captured. Confirm any separate encryption add-on before assuming it is included.

Pros and Cons

What we liked

  • The data region is a customer choice between Europe and the USA, stated up front
  • $49.99 a year for 500 GB is the cheapest published per-account annual price of the consumer plans here
  • Client-side, zero-knowledge encryption is available as an explicit add-on
  • A public encryption challenge with a published result is unusual transparency

What we did not

  • Zero-knowledge encryption is not part of the base plans and its price is not published on the page
  • Download-link traffic is capped, and the 10 TB plan still only carries 2 TB of it
  • The 14-day refund window is the shortest here
  • The security page names no certification or third-party audit of the service itself

What We Could Verify and What Remains Unknown

Verified on 2026-09-05 from: pCloud plans, pCloud Encryption, pCloud security overview.

Still unknown after reading those pages: encryption add-on price; certifications; supported platforms list; free tier size. We leave those blank rather than filling them in from a review site.
